Virtual Heartbreaker: A Tinder Experiment

Right Swipe Pics, sounds like a good idea.   But does it work?   Can different photos of the same person really get them more matches?  I was curious to know myself so I decided to conduct my own experiment.

I met my first subject on Tinder.  His photos looked like this:

Dr Chad

Good looking guy, active, social and judging by that white coat, not a dummy.   What woman in her right mind would swipe him left?

Turns out he’s a pretty cool guy, so I took some photos of him.  Here are some of them:

With 2 sets of photos, I decided to put them to the test.   I created Facebook and Tinder profiles for ‘Joe’ the virtual heartbreaker.  I used Liker Pro, a third party app, to change the GPS of the profiles and to indiscriminately ‘like’ 100 profiles at a time.   Joe and Joe’s bios both read “I like dancing and time travel.”

Each Joe ‘liked’ 200 profiles in each city with a 20 mile discovery setting and had a 15 minute time frame to get matches.

Right Swipe Pics’s photos beat Chad’s in 10 out of 15 tests, tied in 4 and lost in 1.   Overall, Right Swipe Pics more than doubled Chad’s match rate.

So there you have it.  Same guy.  Different photos.  More Matches.   Right Swipe Pics?  Indeed!
